“Colophon” comes from the Greek, meaning ‘a summit,’ ‘top,’ ‘finishing.’ It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book… or in the footer of a website, like this one.

Typography
The website headers are set in Georgia or Times — web safe fonts. The website body copy was set in Verdana, a web safe typeface designed for legibility at smaller point sizes. Special consideration was given to ensure this site is accessible: all non-imaged copy can be resized according to users’ needs.

The site is maintained using a customized installation of WordPress. A wide range of useful plugins are in use, including Sandbox, a semantically sound, skinnable, structural XHTML WordPress theme; WP Highslide, which handles the biography image interactions; and Search Everything, an extension to WordPress’ search capabilities. The site is authored using structural XHTML, and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
