announcement

Dear Friends and Fans

It is with great pleasure that I have been given the opportunity to announce Redmoon’s historic collaboration with Laarna Cortaan.

After much discussion, many negotiations, and some prodding, I am able to confirm that Laarna has agreed to make her U.S debut in Chicago with Redmoon.

Norway’s performance sensation, Laarna Cortaan, has been enthralling audiences in Europe since her groundbreaking music stormed the underground scene years ago. All of Laarna’s music is created through an extended collaboration with her audiences. What began as Laarna’s experiment has resulted in her fan base literally creating her music with and for her. Cortaan plants the seeds of music at live performances, and fans then tape her live presentations, alter the orchestrations, add lyrics, morph the work, and share the music in a new form through the internet, in parking lots, at clubs, and on the streets. Cortaan garnered such a huge underground following she has become known as ‘the public’s musician’.

In 2008 Redmoon met Laarna while creating the opening spectacle event for an urban performance arts festival in Holland. Such great appreciation was had for one another that discussions of collaboration began. She has finally agreed to make her first U.S appearance with Redmoon. She will provide her amazing music, we will provide a unique brand of spectacle imagery as a backdrop.

We have immediately and simultaneously moved into design, build and rehearsal for the concert experience, creating a very cool set, our most fantastic objects to date, and located a space right on Lake Michigan- Belmont Harbor- see our website for details.

I will post pictures of the event as it is developed so you can remain included in the process of our creation. For now, I simply want to announce the spectacle. After the exhaustion of finalizing contracts, concluding agreements, and much other, I need to sit back, rest, and imagine what will come.

Frank
