Transforming Children into Powerful and Confident Artists
May 30, 2008 – 9:28 am
May has been a full month for the Neighborhood Arts Programs. Over 250 youth, 24 teachers, 10 teaching artists, and a dozen community members were busily making Spectacle with Redmoon. Both the Dramagirls and Redmoon School Partnership presented an end of the year Spectacle Event devised, designed, built, and performed by the youth.

On Dirt and Puppets
May 23, 2008 – 3:35 pm
As Boneyard Prayer draws to a close and I take time to reflect on the process, there is one thing that is abundantly clear to me: I will not miss the dirt. Though this romp through the soil has in fact allowed me to reenact childhood pastimes of digging holes […]

We have loose ideas, random images, impulse towards certain materials… but rarely do we understand […]
Finding Redmooners
May 16, 2008 – 1:40 pm
I am not involved in the casting process. It is a mystery to me. A fascinating mystery.
I wandered out to use the bathroom across from the performance space, and found interns sitting at a desk handing out clipboards with questionnaires attached. Head shots fluttered about the space, actors (who look impossibly […]
Panic!
May 9, 2008 – 4:56 pm
We were dead.
No…Network.
We have risen.
The…Network…is…back.
People are worried. They say, “Help!”
“Where are my files?”
“What happened to my database?”
“Why can’t I print?”
“Why can HE print?”
“Where are the scissors?”
There are answers to these questions.
“Safe.”
“Unclear. We may have to do two months worth of data entry in two days.”
“You are no longer connected.”
“I have no idea. That is […]
Pride and Faith and Spreadsheets
May 2, 2008 – 1:03 pm
It’s no secret around here that I love spreadsheets. Love building them, love editing them, especially love analyzing data in them and using that data to make informed decisions. Even I, though, have to admit that sometimes a spreadsheet is not enough.
I sat there with Chris Schram, Redmoon’s Executive Director, and Rebecca […]
